    Get PDF
Bamboo (Bambusoides – Gramineae) is one of the most important natural resource in Southeast Asia. However, bamboo identification has many difficulties. In the area of SEP programme «Indochina Bamboos» (2008-2010), the final objective is to update the bamboo flora of Indochine (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodege) and to publish an e-flora including free access keys, digital images and information about the traditional and economic use of bamboos. During field trips in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodgia, samples, pictures and morphological description sheets were collected in various locations and previously assigned to the local vernacular names. We use an informatic program, Xper2, to assist the comparison and identification of “vernacular bamboo taxa” based on morphological characteristics

The supply chain management as the general tool can be used for supporting and delivering the goods to the villages. The village head is the leader of the village government. The tenure of the village head is 6 years, and can be extended for another one term is expected to run the government with a good performance in providing services to the community. So with the proper use of the supply chain the needs of the villages can be provide by the government. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method can help decision making in determining the performance index of the village head. This research is conduct by looking for the performance of positive and negative ideal solutions. Applications with the highest V value will occupy the top size in this system. Then the criteria in determining the performance index of the head of the village are: timeliness, discipline, responsibility, leadership, presence, value. The results of the decision-making system resulted in 6 alternative suggested performance indexes of village heads, with the highest score of Sending Agung Village

Measuring Supply Chain Performance through Migrant Workers Placement

    Get PDF
To facilitate existing procedures and improve decision making, a decision support system (SPK) needs to be built. This SPK aimed  to determine the placement of workers abroad using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method and supply chain process. This method was chosen because it is  able to select the best alternative from a number of alternatives, in this case the alternative in question was  someone who was entitled to receive Placement based on predetermined criteria. This research was conducted by looking for weight values for each individual. The Decision Support System produced was  capable of ranking prospective Indonesian migrant workers and  making it easier for BP3TKI to make decisions about Indonesian migrant workers by supply chain resource management for who will depart abroad

Collaborative explorations of plant genetic resources are organized annually and conducted jointly by scientists of the Plant Resources Center (PRC) at the Vietnamese Academy of Agricultural Science and the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), Japan, as part of the Plant Genetic Resources in Asia (PGRAsia) project that surveys the genetic diversity of crops in Asia. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the 2020 northern Vietnam exploration was conducted by only Vietnamese scientists from October 17 to 26, 2020. This region is important in terms of biodiversity, anthropological resources, and socioeconomic status. The exploration was conducted in the Quan Ba, Dong Van, and Meo Vac districts of the Ha Giang Province, Bao Lam district of Cao Bang Province, and Ba Be district of Bac Can province. A total of 71 samples were collected, including 45 chili peppers (14 Capsicum annuum, 15 Capsicum frutescens, 1 Capsicum baccatum, and 15 Capsicum spp.), 17 eggplants (14 Solanum melongena and three Solanum spp.), two pumpkins (Cucurbita moschata), one mung bean (Vigna radiata), and six snap beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). This paper presents the results of the collected crop germplasm along with locally reported characteristics, applications, and planting regimes. The collected samples were divided for storage and evaluation at the PRC and NARO facilities to enable the assessment of agrobiological characteristics and markers of genetic diversity. Sample Photo 71

The names of the repository/repositories and accession number(s) can be found in the article/supplementary material.Cyanobacteria are phototrophic organisms widely found in most types of natural habitats in the tropical regions of the world. In this study, we isolated and identified cyanobacterial strains from paddy soil in Hanoi (Vietnam) and investigated their cytotoxic activities. Five isolated cyanobacterial strains showed distinctive profiles of gene sequences (rRNA 16S and rbcL), phylogenetic placements, and morphological characteristics. Based on the polyphasic evaluation, they were classified as Scytonema bilaspurense NK13, Hapalosiphon welwitschii MD2411, Aulosira sp. XN1103, Desikacharya sp. NS2000, and Desmonostoc sp. NK1813. The cytotoxic screening revealed that the extract of strain Scytonema bilaspurense NK13 exhibited potent cytotoxic activities against four human cell lines of HeLa cells, OVCAR-8 cells, HaCaT cells, and HEK-293T cells, with IC50 values of 3.8, 34.2, 21.6, and 0.6μg/mL, respectively. This is the first time a well-classified Scytonema strain from tropical habitat in Southeast Asia has been recognized as a potential producer of cytotoxic compounds. The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU).http://www.frontiersin.org/Microbiologyam2023BiochemistryGeneticsMicrobiology and Plant Patholog

peer reviewedThe aerial parts of Equisetum diffusum D.Don (Equisetaceae ED), a Vietnamese folk medicine used for hypertensive, anti-inflammatory, diuretic and hemostatic properties, were collected in Northern Vietnam. The secondary metabolites of the sequential n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts were profiled by HPTLC with chromatographic conditions and derivatization reagents characteristic for flavonoids, polyphenols and terpenoids/steroids. All these metabolite classes were present in the methanol extract whereas the ethyl acetate extract comprised some polyphenols and flavonoids; no characteristic compound class could be identified in the n-hexane extract. HPLC allowed to determine the concentration of isoquercitroside, the major flavonoid of the methanol extract (1.60 ± 0.04 mg/g dry weight; n=3)
